Parrots - African Grey

Click here for information on the African Grey

African Greys are very talented imitators and are usually very affectionate. They must be housed in a large cage (at least 36"x24") and be supplied with lots of toys to prevent boredom and keep their beaks in shape. Greys need ample time out of their cage with at least two hours of human interaction daily. These birds require lots of attention! A Grey's diet should consist mainly of vegetables, fruit, nuts, seed, grains, cooked beans, rice and dark leafy greens. A high quality pellet can be fed but should not consist of more than 40% of their diet.
